If your SoundDock original does not charge your Apple device then this kit will give your dock the features to enable you to play and charge all generations of Apple devices that require USB charging (30-pin docking connector) including the Iphones, Ipod and Touch. PLEASE NOTE: This part is not compatible with Type B Docks. This is a direct replacement for Bose part number #282490-001 & 276993-001 and will enable you to complete the upgrade in about five minutes. SoundDock Original Check & Diagnostic video The supported foam overlay replaces the sticky overlay and holds the docking board in place. Therefore no adhesives are required. Note that this type of dock already supports the charging of the Iphone and Ipod touch. If your board has the four resistors then you do not need an upgrade kit! The supported foam overlay is gloss on the top side and matt black soft padded-sealed cell foam on the underside. When assembled it protects and supports the docking connector board. It simplifies the replacement procedure because adhesive is not required to carry out the connector repair and if there are any problems the dock can easily be disassembled.

This issue 5 board upgrades the previous issues so that your dock will detect and play all Apple devices including Iphones and the Ipod touch. It is supplied with all the tools and comprehensive instructions to enable you to replace your docking connector. This board is compatible with the Bose SoundDock Series 2 only.
